14th ANNUAL BAJA CHALLENGE

Once again, San Diego’s real estate/building and related industries are being challenged to build homes for destitute families in the area of Mexico just south of Otay Mesa. Our 2013 goal is to build 12 homes in the brand new area of Colonia Union Antonchista. No experience is necessary, but it is greatly appreciated.

Each team is responsible for raising the $4,000 cost of materials per house and providing a volunteer building crew. An additional $750 can also be donated, at each team's option, to provide an outhouse for the family whose home they are building.

When: Saturday, October 5, 2011
All day from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Team Leaders from each company shall attend the following meetings (dates to be announced):

Who: Open to all real estate related companies (no construction skill required):
Commercial Real Estate Brokerage, Construction Companies, Architects, Banks, Title Companies, Residential Brokerage, Developers, and Real Estate Organizations.

Where: Colonia Union Antonchista, just south of Otay Mesa.

Each house is built for an eligible family who owns their small lot (qualified by Project Mercy). We will meet at the Otay Mesa Border at 6:00 AM (see directions). The directions link also includes information on the ID requirements for crossing the Border.

Why: A wonderful opportunity for us to give back to the community and to work with colleagues in our field.
